Lucille MacClellan Memorial Scholarship

The Lucille MacClellan Memorial Scholarship is available to any resident of Columbia Township in Lorain County that is a current graduating senior in Columbia High School aspiring to attend a two-year or four-year college, trade school, technical institute, or other post-secondary education program.  To apply for this scholarship, you must submit this application on-line.  This application is used to determine how you have made or are making significant contributions as a leader at your school and in your community. Two (2) scholarships will be awarded worth $1,000.00 each to the winning applicants.  Scholarship recipients will be selected based upon their completion of this application, current transcript grades, and answers to the essay questions.

Affectionately known as "Mrs. Mac", Lucille MacClellan was dedicated to sharing and recording her knowledge of Columbia Township's history.  When extensive travel became part of her life, she maintained her passion for educating the youth of Columbia by sending them short stories about Columbia's settlers that would appeal to their interests.  Mrs. MacClellan contributed to Columbia Township as a school teacher, organizer of events, and by providing financial assistance when she recognized a need. This scholarship's purpose is to acknowledge students who, like Lucille MacClellan, demonstrate a devotion to the community.
