Columbia Community Foundation Scholarship

The Columbia Community Foundation Scholarship is available to any resident of Columbia Township in Lorain County that is a current graduating high school senior aspiring to attend a two-year or four-year college, trade school, technical institute, or other post-secondary education program.  To apply for this scholarship, you must submit this application on-line.  Two (2) scholarships will be awarded worth $2,000.00 each to the winning applicants.  Scholarship recipients will be selected based upon their completion of this application, current transcript grades, and answers to the essay questions.

Application process is open from January 15th through April 1st each year. [Application process for 2012 is open] [This is a separate scholarship application process from any other Columbia Community Foundation offered scholarship]

Criteria for Applying for and Receiving this Scholarship:

  1. The applicant must be a current resident of Columbia Township in Lorain County in the state of Ohio.
  2. The applicant must be a current graduating senior in high school or vocational school.
  3. The applicant must be accepted to attend a two-year or four-year college, trade school, technical institute, or other post-secondary education program by the scholarship application deadline.
  4. The applicant will postal mail a current copy of their high school transcript or report card demonstrating their unweighted cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and copy of their school's acceptance letter. Only one current copy of their high school transcript or report card and copy of their school's acceptance letter is required to be sent to the foundation to fulfill multiple foundation scholarship requirements.
  5. The applicant must not be an immediate relative of any of the Columbia Community Foundation's officers or directors.
